Having to sell my 2.2 VTI, as it requires repair and I haven't the time or money to do so when I have another car which I can drive already on the driveway. Item was listed twice on E-Bay - but two time wasters bidded, won the item and then never bothered to turn up to complete the sale.
It's a lovely 1998 manual 2.2 VTI with silver pearlescent metallic paint. It has alloys, 4 wheel steering, Air Con, CD Player, Cruise Control, Electric Windows and Sunroof and is stage 1 chipped. The car requires repair as is currently not starting. We have the RAC paperwork from when it broke down, showing what the problem is. The engineer spent several hours going over it to isolate the issue. It requires a new distributor / spark amplifier, as the engine is turning over OK but there's not sufficient spark to get it to fire up. Will also require a new cam belt, as the current one is worn and due for replacement, although still intact and in place. Both of these can be picked up on E Bay for approx £200, and a few hours work will have you up and running. The bodywork is generally very good - no rust. There's a small dent on the passenger's side front wheel arch, and a few small scrapes on the corners where the previous owner obviously didn't get to grips with the 4 wheel steering :o)
Interior in great condition for it's age - no major wear on seats or dash. MOT up to July - advisories on MOT certificate are small chips to windscreen (not gone through, easily filled), slight play in front suspension ball joints, and two tyres worn, but still legal. Currently SWORN off road as tax ended at the end of December. Comes with 2 remote keys (1 Master) A bit of work over the winter months and you'll have yourself a cracking car - good looking and great performance - stand out from the crowd in this sexy looking car. Only selling due to work required, and we've got another car to use - so this is just sat around waiting for somebody to love it again.
Collection from Northants NN7 area - you'll require a trailer or to tow the car as previously stated, it's not currently running. Cash on Collection - £500 ONO. Any questions, please feel free to message me

Hi,

Can you explain why the rocker cover has been off please?

When you say the cambelt is worn, do you mean you can see there is wear/damage to it, or is it just that it's due because of the mileage?

Thanks

Hi Iain - everything was tested by the RAC man, and it's likely my other half hadn't got round to putting everything back correctly before he took these photo's.
With regards to the cambelt, when the engine was given the once over to see what the issue was - it was ruled out that the cambelt was the problem, but at the same time some wear was noticed to it - plus with the mileage it is due for replacement anyway. Thanks

You can see in the pics that the rocker cover has been off. Back in place but not bolted down.

Hi - per Iain's reply, the cover has indeed been off when the engine was given the once over - but simply not bolted down before these pictures were taken.
Mileage on the car is just shy of 122,350.
Thanks
