1998 5th Gen 2.2 Vti 4WS (Motegi mods) Sold for £1,200

Regrettably I am now selling my 5th Gen due to an expanding family and the need for an estate.
£1200 ono.
This is a 1998 2.2 Vti in Supermarine Blue. H22A5.
Tax til 31/5/14. Mot til 14/12/14.
Registered as an auto but has been converted by a previous owner to manual. The conversion has been done very well and I have never had any problems with it. The only clue is the wide brake pedal and the bundle of disused cables under the bonnet.
The clocks were changed at the same time so the mileage indicated is approx. 98k. However, the real mileage is approx. 124k. There is some documentation / old mots to help prove this. I have a receipt from 2009 stating the mileage pre clock change at 107k and then all the following MOTS. It adds up to about 124K. I have only put 6k on it since purchasing in Feb 2010.
Main Dealer FSH to 85,635 (old clocks) to 12/2005 at Rowes Honda, Truro.
There is then a gap for the next 20k (2005 - 2009). However, clutch and timing belts were done when the gearbox was changed in 2009 and I have the receipts to prove this.
Since then I have had it serviced annually and have spent a fair amount of cash.
Upon purchase I had the car professionally wax oiled.
Spark plugs replaced with Platinum items.
High quality oil and filters replaced annually.
Air filter regularly cleaned.
I have replaced all the original suspension with Motegi items.
I have also added Motegi 17" wheels although these could now use a refurb due to kerbing and peeling on all 4.
All the discs and pads have been replaced either this year (rears) or in 2010 (fronts). They all have plenty of life in them. All high quality parts. The rears are Brembo.
Rear ball joints and anti roll bar links replaced this year at significant expense.
Summary of mods:
Induction kit and filter (not sure on make).
Stainless manifold and down pipe (Japspeed). Wrapped by me to reduce under bonnet temps as the original heat shield had been removed.
Motegi suspension.
Motegi wheels.
Auto to manual conversion using a Prelude 5 speed box code M2P4.
Bodywork:
Average for age. There are stone chips on the bonnet and a scuff on the nsf bumper which has been touched up (not by me). A few other age related scratches and scuffs. It looks great with a polish as you can see from the pics but won't stand up to close scrutiny. The body panels are straight and importantly there is NO RUST. This was important to me hence the wax oil which is doing the trick.
Interior:
Black cloth
Very good condition. I replaced the mats recently (not OEM). Everything works as you'd expect.
Air con is cold
Cruise control works
Aftermarket CD player with aux input
Previous owner has sprayed the wooden centre console section grey. Looks nice and has a very nice finish. You can't actually tell its been sprayed until you see the wooden door inserts which haven't been done!
Driving:
Pulls like a train. Smooth cross over into Vtec. It has never missed a beat.
The handling feels tight particularly after the recent suspension work and the Motegi suspension made a huge difference without making the car too low.
Steering is smooth and accurate. 4ws works perfectly and I have had a full 4 wheel laser alignment.
Braking is strong with the fresh discs and pads.
Clutch feels good.
Gearbox is sometimes a little difficult to engage 1st and reverse but it goes through the gears well and there is no 5th gear grind. MOT advisory of a slight oil leak here but its only a weep and doesn't require much topping up at service time.
I will include:
A set of 16" saw blades. Painted black, reasonable condition with cheap tyres although they have plenty of tread.
Full set of spare brake calipers (need a refurb) with used discs and pads plenty of wear left.
Stainless decat pipe (removed for MOT).
Spare front hubs.
Also available is a Thule roof rack which we can negotiate.
All in all a very clean honest car that would make a solid base for further mods or just ready to go with plenty of Mot left. Having written war and peace I don't really want to part with it but needs must. It would be a crying shame to have to break.
£1200 ono. Thanks.
