Honda Prelude 2.2 VTI 4WS Auto Burgundy in Warwick

£750 wanted
I am selling here my beloved tiptronic automatic R reg 1997 Honda Prelude 2.2 VTI in burgundy. 134540 miles. I bought the car in September 2009 and loved every second.
Selling as driving more miles, and therefore have finally realised it is time for a more economical vehicle. MOT'd until SEPTEMBER 2014, taxed until end of AUGUST 2014
BODY WORK:
Please remember this is a 17 year old car so the body work will show some years, but when polished up, it truly defies it's age! I have had three rust areas repaired - around the boot key hole, and both arches in front of the rear wheels. Every since repair, not a blemish and no other signs of rust.
The rear bumper has some parallel scratches where I scraped the plastic bumper along a wall (in the first week I owned it!!), and I used Honda Burgundy paint to just touch them up, not brilliant, but better than the white fiberglass! There are some marks on the other side too. My bodywork garage quoted around £100 to respray the bumper, so that is an option for you if you want, but I never got round to it. There is the usual stone chips, odd scratch and lacquer peal etc, which isn't unusual for a car of this age. All lights - indicators, headlight, side lights, brakes etc work fine.
WINDSCREEN:
Had two chips, been filled by Autoglass in March 2011, and no problems since.
From the outside looking in you can see a few scratches. This was from me scraping ice off last winter. I didn't realise the chuffing rubber had slipped off my scraper and I was effectively using the metal to scrape! I swore. There isn't anything to fill, and as you can't see the scratches from the inside. Not an MOT failure or problem.
INTERIOR:
The interior of the car is lush. Cream upholstery with wood trim. The original Prelude mats crumbled a couple years back, and I replaced with rubber ones, which have been excellent at keeping the mud off the light carpet. Drivers and passenger's windows work fine, as does the side mirror control. All electrical items work. Lighter works. CD player (is a face off, the carry case is in the glove box). All seats are in good condition, and I have had people in the back seats, so it is doable!! A/C is still ice cold, and heater is excellent. Rear window demister, the top two 'wires' on the screen don't work, but never did since I had it, so never a problem. Boot, bonnet and petrol cap release all work fine. Boot and 'ski-shoot' is very useful and have managed to move decent amounts. Not bad for a 2+2!
It has always done this, but I tend to notice alittle more when it is cold, but when you use the unlock using the key fob, you sometimes get the car locking and unlocking 4 or 5 times (with the corresponding interior courtesy light flashing), but this stops as I said after a few times and finishes by the time you are in and heading off. Just a quirk which hasn't caused me any alarm for the 4 and a bit years I've had it.
The stereo and surround speakers sound great.
Electric sunroof in good condition and works well.
WHEELS:
Original Honda 16" alloys with 205/50R16s. The snowy winter last year did a bit of a number on them - bubbling abit, but reckon will refurb up ok, or you can always go aftermarket alloys to treat yourself.. However saying that, as you can see from the pics, still look pretty good! Do have locking wheel nuts, the remover is in the glove compartment.
DRIVE:
It is so easy to drive!! The 4WS (4 wheel steer) helps you manuvre better at higher speeds and your turning circle is much more reduced! The automatic/tiptronic gear box is very responsive and have had no problems or faults. Only been driving a manual for 2 days and I MISS THE AUTO!! Starts first time every time.
COMES WITH:
only 1 key and 1 fob
Owner's handbook and service list
Original Honda letter describing the immobilser that is installed (useful for insurance purposes)
My purchase receipt from 10/9/09, mileage 92140, for £2299
MOT certificates from 2005-2013.
WORK DONE/receipts available:
Original service book showing servicing from 1998 to the point when I purchased it (Sept 2009) and beyond.
April 2010 - Brake pads front and rear
September 2010 - service (information sheet available)
Jan 2011 - offside rear brake caliper replaced
Feb 2011 - coolant loss from a rubber hose leak. Car was stopped immediately and repaired. There was an adivisory put on the invoice at this point saying 'further damage may have occurred due to engine overheating', but I was assured by the recovery man and the garage itself the engine was stopped soon enough and we are nearly 3 years on and no problems.
June 2011 2 tyres
June 2011 Boot rust repaired
September 2011 - minor service and new rear and centre exhaust sections
Seotember 2011 - General service, oil & filter change. Advised to change belts as good practice.
October 2011 - new cambelt, PAS Belt and Alternator belt.
December 2012 - offside rear wheelarch rust repaired.
February 2012 - both rear wheelarches rust repaird (the first one came back through, so they re-did, and no problems since!)

November 2012 2 x tyres (Dunlop Fast Response 205/50R16) (then a single replacement in Feb 2013 due to a bloody nail!!)
June 2013 Exhaust realigned, replaced front pads and general check over.
August 2013 MOT, advisory, front inner edges of tyre worn close to legal limit, however got checked by my tyre garage afterwards, they checked alignment and were happy with it. Suspect it was down to under-inflation. Rear tyres decent tread, front tyres nearer legal limit. MOT expires September 14th 2014.
