Alright peeps,

Ok, it's bargain time. Due to the winning bidder on eGay letting me down, I still have a car I need to sell..and I need it gone ASAP. So, first come first served, I am letting it go for £650 if it can be collected this weekend or sooner.

I know it's worth more on paper, but I can't afford to wait around to get a better price for it. I bought another car this month which has burnt a big hole in my pocket. So whoever buys it will do pretty well here.

It's a decent car with bags of potential, as many of you will already know. And I'd love to see it go to somebody in here so it stays in the 'family' so to speak.

Come down and check it out..I think you'll like it. :)

Anyway, here's the details. If you've got any questions or want more info or pics, just ask. ;)

Up for sale is my beloved Gen 3 Honda Prelude.

It's a 1990/H JDM B20A5 137bhp 4WS Auto in white.

It's covered only 102,312 miles since new, which is below average of course for a 24 year old car. There is some service history & old MOT's to verify this.

It is Taxed till the end of June, and MOT'd till October.

MOT certificate & V5 are both present.

It's in great overall condition for it's age, but does require some TLC to bring it up to standard.

This car will ideally be suited to an enthusiast who has the time & resources to put in to it. It would make a fantastic 2nd car project, or a 'work in progress' daily driver. I was using it as a daily for about 10 months up until a week ago, and it never skipped a beat.

My intention was to convert it to manual, and bring it back to showroom condition. But due to my current circumstances, I am no longer able to continue with the project.

Being a very rare Japanese import model, it has a few optional extras such as rear wiper & climate control. Although I should add the A/C needs regassing as it has never worked since I've owned it. It will most likely need a simple conversion to achieve this, as I believe it is currently set up to take the old type of gas.

The car features mechanical 4WS (which never fails), JDM only climate control, gearbox sports button, cruise control, electric windows, electric sunroof, electric mirrors, electric aerial, dimmer switch for the dash lights, driver's seat lumbar support, central locking, pop-up headlights, and spot lights; which are all in good working order.

The interior is in excellent condition (apart from the usual minor wear to the driver's seat bolster material), and should be viewed to be truly appreciated.

It has been lowered with decent aftermarket shocks & springs, and handles beautifully. The geometry of this car is superb. It has 2 Uniroyal Rainsport 2 tyres on the front (which are excellent), but 2 very average tyres on the rear. And where these rear tyres are within legal limits, and work very well in the dry, they do not inspire confidence round corners in the wet! You may consider changing these in the near future, or just driving a little more tentatively in wet conditions.

The engine & gearbox work as they should, but the exhaust manifold sounds like it's blowing somewhere. This can either be welded, or replaced relatively cheaply using a 2nd hand spare. It's really not that bad, but you can hear it's blowing. It could also do with fresh oil, filter, and spark plugs.

The bodywork is above average for it's age, but does require attention. There is bubbling coming through on the rear arches (which is common on these cars), a bit of rust on the front passenger wing (which is a simple fix, as this can be removed easily & resprayed cheaply), and some lacquer peel on the bonnet (but only on the bonnet). This isn't very noticeable though, being a white car. The paintwork still comes up beautifully when polished and waxed though. At the last MOT, the inspector commented on how clean the underside of the car is for it's age as well. So it's not rotten underneath like some. Probably because it spent much of it's life in Japan; and they don't put salt in their roads.

The catalytic converter light also fades in & out sometimes. This is nothing to worry about though, because it doesn't actually have one! Being a pre 1991 car, it doesn't legally require a cat to pass an emissions test, so this was removed by the previous owner to help the engine breathe better. The lead that is usually connected to the cat was then earthed to the body of the car. It is just this lead that needs cleaning up & re-earthing. A very simple job, but you need to get under the car to do it.

It had new discs & pads fitted throughout about 3 months ago, as well as 2 new rear calipers. The front right caliper is a bit sticky though, and 'chirps' sometimes. So I sourced a used replacement; it just needs fitting.

As previously stated, I had planned on converting this car to a manual, so I collected a few parts in anticipation for this. Such as: manual pedals, manual gear shifter, manual gear shift cables, manual dials, slave cylinder, reservoir, and driveshafts. All of these parts will be included in the sale. You would only need to get the gearbox & ECU.

Not only is this car an extremely rare Japanese model, but it is also pre-facelift; which is equally as rare. It also comes with the original owners manual, space saver, jack, and complete tool kit.

It comes with a nearly new pioneer cd head unit & JBL component speakers as well.

Overall, this is a really nice car, and you will be hard pressed to find one in this condition, with this spec without paying thousands. It does need a bit of work, but is a great base to start a project from. You don't see many of these about anymore either, so it's a real head turner, and it gets people coming up and talking to you in car parks.

I have tried to be as transparent as possible, but viewing is recommended so you can see for yourself what it's all about. I don't think you'll be disappointed, and the first to see it will most likely buy it. It's taxed, MOT'd, reliable, and ready to drive away. All you need to do is insure it & pop a bit of fuel in it.

Located in Southampton.

Yeah, mine's JDM though. I don't remember ever seeing another one personally. And it's got most the bits for a manual conversion. And it's got an immaculate interior. Drop me a PM Ted..maybe we can work something out. ;)
