Hi all,

Unfortunately the time has come to sell both of my preludes :(

They both need a bit of work and I haven't got the time or the money to invest in getting them back up to standard, so I decided that they're better off with someone who does!

The first:

1997 R reg UKDM 2.2 VTI

Bought the car about 2 years ago, lovely to look at and runs really well. Pictures are below (it's filthy, but I'll put it through a full valet before selling and it's dirty inside too)

Info:
134,122 miles but may go up slightly as I'm still driving it until I find another car
2 months MOT
5 previous owners
Full service history (although needs spark plugs and filters changing - oil has been done)
Motegi body kit
Full history/receipts since new (amazing considering how many owners it's had...)

Good points:
2.2 VTEC engine which is still going really strong despite the high mileage (VTEC kicks in as it should and pulls well)
Changed the gearbox about 7k miles ago
Changed the radiator 6 months ago
Changed the ignition switch 6 months ago
Exhaust all welded up and sounds great
Various suspension parts (arms and shocks) fitted at last MOT
Respray was pretty good job - nice shiny pearly white
Interior in generally good condition, slightly rarer "beige" fabric, if beige is your thing
Motegi alloys, all in good condition
Remote locking key fob and comes with the red key
4WS works no problem

Bad bits:
Thrust bearing on the clutch is starting to whine - I've been told by one person that once it goes you can't drive it, although my father in law says not, so take from that what you will
Suspension is generally knackered, it needs 3 upper arms (OSF, NSF, OSR) and a shock absorber (OSR)
Paint is coming off on the front lip
Back bumper doesn't line up properly with boot lid - been like that since I bought it. Also has a tiny crack
OSR wheel arch is rusting slightly (you can see better in pictures)
Driver side side skirt is drooping at the back
Driver side window doesn't go up and down very well, probably needs a new window regulator
Slight paint bubbling on driver side wheel arch
Driver side door has a dent in, although you can't really notice it

As it currently stands it won't pass the MOT because of the suspension problems, but I do have a clutch that can be put in that I bought with the gearbox (came off the same car) that I'll throw in with the sale so that will sort out the thrust bearing problem.

The second:

My pride and joy, the 2.2 JDM SiR (my first prelude!). Unfortunately it developed some electrical problems and I didn't have the time to sort it, so it's been sat at my Uncle's farm for the past 3 years. It was starting first time and ticking over no problem, but the battery has gone flat so I haven't tested it in a while. It's a really nice example and could be a cracker again with some TLC. Pictures below...

Good bits:
Interior and exterior is in great condition
Hasn't covered many miles, I'm pretty sure it's done about 85k in a mix of KM and miles. I did try and work it out at one point, so it's roughly that...but don't hold me to it.
Custom immobilizer fitted by previous owner
All original alloys, although currently sat on 3 of the rubbish ones I took off the UKDM and a space saver
K&N air filter
Serviced not long before taken off the road (although will probably need fluids changing now)

Bad bits:
SRS light is on
Engine light used to come on sporadically, most noticeable when under heavy acceleration with fat passengers
No sunroof or 4WS (lightened SiR model)
Driveshaft knocks, although I have a spare one of those too that I'll throw in with the sale
Very little history - only really what I've had done to it and a bit from the previous owner. I've got nothing from its time in Japan.

Unfortunately I couldn't get to the SiR to take pictures of the interior as it's sort of boxed in amongst the other residents in my Uncle's graveyard of cars, but it's in really good condition.

I've got a miriad of spare parts that I can throw in to the lucky buyer:
JDM Alternator (the SiR currently has a UKDM one on which isn't great)
Driveshaft for the SiR
Mud flaps
Front fogs for the VTI (the SiR has them already) w/ wiring loom and button
Clutch for the VTI
Lowering springs (never fitted to either, came with some shocks)
I've got other bits and bobs too buried in my garage

I'm really sad to see them both go but I just haven't got the time to do everything I want to them :(

I'm looking for around £500 for the UKDM and £600 for the JDM but I'm keeping an open mind so will listen to any and all offers (although a cheeseburger and your firstborn cannot be accepted).

Both cars located in Gloucester area.

My phone number is 07557345276 if anyone wants to speak to me over the phone (excuse my west country accent) - I'm available all weekends and weekday evenings after 6PM.

600 for the sir is very tempting...

BTW your father in law is talking Bollocks. When the clutch thrust bearing goes, you're about 2 presses of the clutch away from a drokking big bang and mangled mess inside the bell housing. In the meantime of those couple of presses, you will hear a really loud screaming sound. That's the sound of the seized bearing being pressed against the pressure plate fingers spinning at a few thousand rpm (depending what engine speed you change gear at) and bare metal chewing into the other.
One of 2 things will happen - either the bearing will eat it's way through the fingers, or the fingers will grab the bearing and rip it off the clutch release arm.

Probably! It was like it when I bought it, but the arse sticks out so far I can imagine people bump them easily

Any reason why you haven't changed clutch with gearbox on VTI ? seems very strange to me ?

When I changed the gearbox we checked the clutch and it seemed fine (I don't think it had been changed too much longer before, maybe 20k miles or something) so I didn't see the need to, that was the only reason :)

Is that a Reliant SST next to the SiR?

Good spot ;) My Uncle is a bit of a hoarder of all things ancient, most of the cars/tractors/vans down there are older than I am, by a fair margin!
