thank you for getting updated pics bud! to me, the arches are really not that bad a all...usually they are a lot worse than that!

just one more thing, is the oil leak coming from either end of the gearbox which both shafts input? or is the oil leak from the engine crankshafts (bottom of engine block) at either end? hence your mention of one being hidden by the gearbox housing i suppose.

As far as I know it's coming from the engine only, but of course this means it's coming out where the engine and gearbox mate.

I must admit this is coming from my mechanic who had a look for me - I'll take a look tonight to see if I can confirm.

Arches were redone a couple of years ago, they're just going off again now....

I'd snap this up if I didn't have a baby on the way in less than a week!

Why is the speedometer from a car with an auto trans and airbags?

Probably because the importer I bought it from fitted it to display mph rather than kph (as it's JDM).

For me it's always been that way!

Near side looks fine to me. Getting inside that with some Dinitrol should see it last just fine.
Off side obviously does need attention.

do you have a list of what work is required to get her through an MOT bud? may help people pre-plan what needs doing to get her on the road :D

i know you mention known issues from MOT at the start, but was that all?
- Oil leak from both front and rear crankshaft seals do you know if this was pouring out at quite a rate? or just a slow leak but with a large patch of oil underneath maybe?
- Leaking downpipe exhaust downpipe i guess? simple replacement if someone can source one :)
- Some rust around rear arches and sills not an MOT failure as far as i know, only if there is significant rust around the back of the sill where it meets the bottom of the arch for inner seatbelt strengh
