if he is saying he is gonna absolutly thrash the box then it will eventually die if you just use it occasionally and get it serviced regular it will be fine

Just to add a couple of points, the thing about getting it serviced properly is really a must, this was the first semi auto box to go into a mass produced road car and so it was a tad experimental. If you do intend on booting it everywhere in semi mode then I suggest getting an ATF cooler fitted, and also when you get it serviced be aware that a lot of garages will assume due to the age of the car they can just stick Dexron II/III ATF in it, they cant and that text book error has killed many a 5th gen autobox, it needs Honda Z1 ATF as a minimum (I ran FUCHS 4400 synthetic ATF and never had an issue).
