OEM H22 rod bearing

Post by hondaddict » Tue Jun 14, 2016 8:12 pm

Hello everybody!

I'm looking for some informations about the OEM H22 bearings, so does anybody could post here a picture of oem H22 rod bearing?

I just want to know if these bearings are drilled like the others H/B/F rod bearings or not...

Please, i need only oem H22 rod bearing, not aftermarket...

Thanks a lot for your help :D :D :D

I guess your talking about the big end bearing? I'm 99% sure they are drilled as that's the oil way!

Also you know you can't order them until you know the size, of which there's like 6 different sizes for the perfect tolerance on your engine alone.

Hello everybody!

Thanks to you all for the input :D

Merlin, if you have any picture, even of a fried bearing, no problem :D

106pete, yes i'm talking about big end rod bearing, if i'm right, only the H22A7, the H22A8 and the H22A with the PDE head cames with bushings on the small end of their rods. (maybe also the H23 bluetop but i'm not sure)...

Drax, thanks for the information, i was hoping that it was a mistake on the workshop manual, which would explain why the part numbers for H22 big end rod bearing are different from the others engines, i believed that the difference was the hole undrilled on the bearing...

So i only have two options for my future engine: plug the holes on my H23 rods or weld them...

Once again, thanks for your replies :D

Re: OEM H22 rod bearing

After a look at the topic of Drax ( thanks to you :D ), i think i've got my answer for sure now!

The oem rod bearings on the H22 seems to be not drilled and it is a good new for me ( not so good as it means that i'll have to buy Honda oem bearings... and they aren't pretty cheap).

As shown on Drax 's pictures, H22A7 rod bearings are not drilled and as i've seen on Lings , the part number between H22A2 and H22A7 are the same, so i just have to buy these oem rod bearing and it will be ok for my build!

Once again thanks to your help :D
