just remember if you de-cat it you will have to recat it for the mot, also by putting a pipe in place i found my exhaust sounded very rattly and raspy on hard excelleration.

Yes 'rattley & raspy' sums it up- thats what I meant :oops:

Because the OEM system has a Cat & this is effectively a resonator, fitting a straight pipe alters the note of the system.

Worth considering if buying an exhaust for its nice sound (as well as performance increase).

When manufacturers advertise a system as a 'Cat-back' then it has been engineered to produce a particular sound with a Cat fitted ;)

tbh i never noticed much at all in the difference in performance though mine was only a 2.0
