Hi guys,
On my 98 5th since the weather has started getting colder intermittently my immobiliser won't turn off.
Last time this happened I had to replace the receiver ring round the ignition to resolve it. I've checked everything and it all looks OK from what I can tell.
When turning to pos 2 I get fuel pump prime, 4WS, ABS etc, but the immob just won't turn off. Naturally the green key just keeps flashing and I cant start the car. 3-4 attempts at on and off and the problem usually goes away.
Has anyone got anything thoughts?
My initial thought was main relay but I don't think main relay is the cause because its immob not crank but no start..
Oh yeah, and I did the ignition switch last year too.
Another thought on this, if the immob cant be fixed, would switching to obd1 ECU be an option to remove the immob system?
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

I do LD, but its so worn that it wont turn in the barrel so I'd have to get another cut to test it really
I'll give the battery a quick check as it can't hurt and I do have a nice charger that I'd not used yet.
Mercutio; which ECU? I was looking at H-Tune and they seem to have pre-done P28's. Would that be any good to me? or am I looking for a P13? I can't remember.
::EDIT:: Charger indicates about 80% charge. I'll let it top up and see if it helps before jumping into replacing an ECU.. Though it IS a good excuse to get it on a rolling road...
