Hi
Does anyone know if you can get an aftermarket exhaust system or back box purpose made for the prelude gen5,
or would i have to get a generic type exhaust and have it fabricated to fit?
Thanks
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

You can use any exhaust listed for the 97-98 H22 or US "Base". Do not use any exhaust listed for US "Type-SH" cars.
The 2.0L and 97-98 5th gens use the same exhaust:

Alternatively you can get a custom one made. I looked into this a year or so ago and was quoted in the region of £450 for a 2.5" CAT-back.

See if you have a Powerflow out let near you. They're cheap custom jobbies but very loud.

The main problem with aftermarket stuff is they invariably use a tiny little rear silencer.
The 5G's looks oval, but it is a bloody great square box at the top, so it's quiet and fairly gas-flowy.
This is true of many Hondas, and so anything aftermarket tends to be very asthmatic & farty.
Mugen gets round that with a weird double-loop pipe, but theirs are a tad more expensive even than OEM.
