Post by Madhatter81 » Fri Jan 11, 2013 5:32 pm

I'm new to honda engine codes
I have a h22a2
My friend has got some cams out of his h22a7
If I put these cams on my engine would I have any gains at all ??
I hope so !!!

You'll see some gains but needs tuning to get the best out of it which isn't exactly cheap. It really depends on the rest of your set up as to the power you'll get

You need basic breathing mods at least and see if you can blag his intake manifold as well ;-) ... Then Tune :D

If you go down this route, depending on tuner, inlet, exhaust mani, decat/cat & catback you could get figures around the ones I have. Altho I have a rebuilt ATR head too which was done by the H22 master

You should also fit the increased rate ATR valve springs along with the cams although I'm sure you'll find a million and one people that will say you don't have to!!
While this is true.. you don't HAVE to, you SHOULD if you don't want valve float at high rpms.

Other than that, what the other guys have said really - breathng mods, maybe an ATR intake but most importantly (if you want the best gains) a full remap to optimise the setup
