See page 11-115 of the manual in the wiki.
I had this not long after getting my car, turned out base idle was way too low and that page tells you exactly how to test it complete with pictures but in summary..
1. Warm up the car to normal running temp
2. With the engine still running disconnect the connector to the IAC valve, once that’s not involved anymore you will be seeing what the base idle is at. In my case revs dropped to nearly nothing so a good few turns of the screw (anticlockwise if I remember correctly) and all was and still is good.
That page has all the details around testing it loaded and unloaded and what the revs should be. I don’t have a tachometer so just went by eye on the rev counter.
Obviously if you unplug the IAC valve and the revs don’t change then you have another problem but this is an easy one to check.
Hope that helps
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

Yeah, in a way it is IACV related, due to the base idle not being right, the IACV is trying to compensate, but it doesn't have enough movement to fully correct, so it bounces.
Here's a pic I found from the internet

Obviously, only adjust in small increments until the problem is resolved. IIRC mine was a little too high, so lowering it slightly solved the problem.

Thanks guys
Will give that a go
Will the ilde control adjustment screw be ideal in adjust the revs when i install a 4.5kg lightweight flywheel as i heard that the flywheel could also let the revs drop to low due to lack of enertia especially under lots of load i.e. AC on, Fogs on, Lights on, heated seats and mirrors on etc

Agreed. I was under the impression of this myth tooGayno wrote:Mine has a Fidanza flywheel, installed since 2007 and the problem only turned up last year.
The "lack of inertia" is a myth really, mine will still pull itself up a hill in 1st gear at idle speed.

Mine has a lightened flywheel too and it's great, no issues at all.
