Is there any performance benefits for egr removal

Hi guys I'm about to fit my h22a7 head and cams on my h22a2 bottom end
The head and inlet have been gas flowed and polished

My question is will I get better performance with or without a EGR valve fitted

Also if I remove it will throw code up on the ecu
Which ecu would I need to be able to disable the egr
