Post by LewisH » Sun Feb 10, 2013 5:47 pm

Hihi!

Been looking at these AEM V2's, as the filter that come on my car was erm..... terrible.....

Whos got one ? And can i get some pics of one fitted in the bay?

As dont they sit down in the cold air feed chamber for standard intakes?

IIRC they're not that long, pretty sure they sit where the panel filter box does

Thats cool. Ill try and get a picture of my old filter that i took off. Who ever fitted it, wants a good slap! It was a face palm moment when i took it off.

 Is it sat right at the back of the engine bay to get a good bit of heat soak?

No no no, its sat in the correct place, but the filter was in a right mess! It was a piper cross filter, and it wasnt taking in sufficient air for jobby. Car is ALOT better now, responds how i remember it from 2/3 years ago when i almost bought it the first time.

IIRC, the filter do tend to break up and you have to order a replacement from USA so the previous owner must have just bought some second hand filter (pipercross) from eBay and botched that on your V2.

That's where it should sit behind the battery..

I've not got a v2 as of yet :( its got some stainless intake pipe on it that looks well shady, and the piper cross was bent, rented, torn, had alot of holes in underneath it and just generally, terrible :D

I've got one on my 4th Gen, sits in the same position as that pic.

Mine had an eBay filter on when I got it and the V2 gave much better low down response. I'm not a big believer in filters being much different to each other but it was very noticeable, mind you it might be because the eBay filter was so jobby!!!
