Are we sure we are not thinking idle adjustment/idle control valve?? Just a thought :? Isn't there a procedure for checking/setting the idle?

you see I thought of idle control but it would be at worst when cold no? or is fast idle forcing it open to allow pre heat and so im only seeing idle control valve proper use once its heated up and switched off then on? would that account for raggy low end revs between gears?

why do you switch it off? does it idle ok if you just run it up from cold?

yes but take offs and low end revs are still pretty rough even when engine is fully warmed, by switching it off I mean I go a run come back 5 mins later fire her up again and cos she is heated revs just sit around to what looks like 400 to 500.

So, you start from cold, let it warm up and when it's up to running temp it idles fine? Then you switch it off, restart it, and then it will sit at a low idle and "judder" when pulling away??
