It's the combination of chipped ECU and VSS signal converter that provides VTEC in 1st gear and mph read out. From memory the convertor needs to be wired in at a specific point to acheive the desired effect, I'm sure somebody better versed than myself can confirm?Teddy92110 wrote:That chip says nothing about converting kph to mph
Or just keep the car in kph, I got used to it fairly quickly to be honest.

if you move the chip to behind the speedo you will get vtec in first but a 110mph limit if you chip the ecu you then get vtec in first and no limiter from my understanding
where you have the chip you get no limit but no vtec in first
where you have the chip you get no limit but no vtec in first

Right kool so chip the ecu with that spoon chip or are there more available or better ones? Also another question im goibg to get my car remapped in the near future but beibg told by tuners that they reccomend putting a b series ecu in my car and mapping the engine on that as they are more vtec friendly but i was wondering if i can just get my ecu mapped without changing it

they are not vtec friendly its just that the prelude ecu cannot be remapped it can have the sleepy/spoon chip put in but that's it for tuning the prelude with its own ecu.
Other options are either a piggyback ecu, a full standalone ecu or either a p28 or p72 ecu tuned with either crome or Hondata
