Random question because I think I've got the answer but...never know lol

Would I be better to swap in the ATR engine or build my current h22a5?
Only difference I can really see is slightly higher compression pistons and slightly more aggressive cams :/

It's all subjective, there are plenty of drag cars pushing mega BHP that are FWD.....

Personally, I'm an old git now (38) and I've driven a lot of cars, some of them with big power etc. but I like to find a balance.
For me, the power I have is great, it's 'modern' numbers (S2k etc) but still very much a lude - FWD/NA/VTEC blah blah.
So for my needs it's the best of all worlds, it's comfortable and not peaky, but wicked fun to drive when you're out on your own on nice clear roads and I can get all that power down and use it, though it will spin if you're too OTT of course.
I would say if you go the route that I and Nafe have, get an LSD too to get the most out of it. My car in the corners now is lush, I've owned it for 14 years and it honestly still makes me smile, and compares pretty 'favourably' to a lot of my mates new cars, if that bothers you.

And yes this is perfect lol

The higher comp is what you want. 11:1 pistons are the key.
Hence I went H22A8/ATR inlet mani/Hondata etc.

The other thing I like is mine is mainly Honda parts, with a few goodies here and there of course.

I've got the ecu there for hondata and I recently sold my ATR head and inlet mani for dirt cheap lol

Would It be cheaper then to split the block and put in 11:1 or higher pistons or swap the ATR block?

Less hassle by far to get a an ATR block with the pistons in it. All blocks have the potential to be different from each other due to the size differences in the cylinders, for example the S-SPEC long block I am working on at the moment is BBBB sizes. If you have a block that is something like AABA, you will have to find the exact matching set of pistons.

So basically I'm looking for a low mileage a7 block with inlet manifold and gearbox?

They are both 11:1. It's just that everyone goes silly for the A7 'BECAUSE TYPE R' and 'BECAUSE BIG BHP'.
