@GOONIESnvrSAYdie would be a good start to buy this ready converted inlet ;) I have an atr inlet for sale but its unmodded for a h22 block.

HEAD
atr/type s cams £80-120 you already have type s cams
head mild polish £200-500 yes you have a factory mild p&p but after 17 years id get a machine shop to do a mild p&p, be worth it ;)

BOTTOM END
atr/type s pistons £80-120 you already have type s pistons
new piston rings £50 id advise doing this
new head gasket £20-80 highly advisable if splitting the head and block appart

INLET
atr inlet mani £100-150 106pete's?
inlet port match to h22 head (unless a7) £20-80 no need IF you buy 106petes ;)
bigger tb (no more than 68mm) £80-250
inlet mani port matched to tb £80-120
good air intake (AEM, Type S, CDA etc.) £100-200 if you already have an aem, not much point getting anything else

EXHAUST
Fuji/Mugen manifold £200-350
decat pipe £20-50
2.75/3" piping cat back exhaust £300-600 by the sounds of it, this is not much point unless you combine it with a hytech, several different opinions by experts on here, so up to you :?

FUEL & ECU
hondata & p28/p72 £350-450
uprated 255 fuel pump £40

TUNING
remap (& on vpower) £300

general lightening of the car FREE
labour to do some of the work depends how much you can do yourself or need to pay someone

total around £2k minimum - with no labour included

If I had your Type-S and wanted a little more power I would put an ATR intake manifold, throttle body, exhaust mods, tune it and leave it at that.

Exactly this. Otherwise a lot of expense for a few horsepower.

So basically ATR intake manifold, throttle body and a tune. I'vealready got exhaust mods.

Would you guys go to the effort of doing a balance shaft delete and having the cranks and everything balanced and then refit the engine or replace them when I have it out?

Also, suggestions on throttle body?

Your jasma manifold will be fine but the rest could do with being a little bigger.

As for the throttle bodie I think the atr and type s are the same as standard but can go upto 68mm, although that could be to big on a stock engine! If it was me I'd stick to the stock size 62mm iirc?
236bhp and 170ft/lb stock

DOnt even bother opening the engine up to remove the crank etc unless you are going for a maintained rebuild or a forged internal. Opening the engine up gets expensive. Automaticaaly £1k plus.

Just get an ATR manifold the a greddy e manage ultimate remap and you should see close to 240-250bhp along with a lightweight ply and accord type r clutch.

I'm just in two minds as what to do for the best. The engine has to come out to replace the balance shafts so it's all a question of what I replace and refresh while it's out. I'd more prefer to replace some of the old OEM parts and add a couple of mods. Nothing serious. Just be daft not too while it's all there.
