depends really what you call decent and what you want from a header

you will get a bit from an ebay header but not a lot there is more restriction in the cat and catback than in the jdm header which is pretty good as standard.
I know it doesn't look pretty but it flows better than the UK header if I was starting now with what I know now I would start with a good catback and go for brakes and suspension and a decent panel filter.

If your after a power gain avoid the DC Sports, there as good as a replacement for a standard that's about it. PLM tri-y is one of the best value for money headers you can get but it hangs a little bit low and needs some modifications to the cat/centrepipe to fit.
As others have said for the vtec in first the convertor needs removed from the engine side and fitted behind the clocks OR you can remove the convertor and fit UK clocks instead of JDM ones. You will always have the 112mph limiter on the standard ecu if your wanting vtec in first, spoon chip removes this and also gives slight gains in power. If changing to p28 it will need to have IAB control added to it (sure this is correct @merlin can confirm this) p72 also from memory doesnt need IAB control added as it already has it. Both can run chrome but best option is Hondata.

Thanks for the info murcutio i looked at an ebay header it was 87£ plus 30 delivery from u.s from a guy called racerbits. Should i pick it up? What will hondata do? And the main question what sort of bhp figure am i looking at after the following mods: accord type r throttle body, skunk 2 inlet manifold, full exhaust including manifold and decat and a remap? I seen a video on youtube and i want my car to perform something like this - 4500 rpm vtec!

might be cheaper and easier to get a full ATR intake manifold with TB as the skunk 2 is basically a copy of that you will be better with a tri Y header rather than an ebay one dc sports copy or a second hand fujitsubo a set of type s or atr cams and a good catback with a p28 with a tune.
That's if you want to get it like that in the vid it wont be cheap if you want cheap you need a civic

either get one made by solid fabs which will cost around £450 but it wont need any alterations to the subframe to fit or from the US not sure how much they are at the moment the exchange rate is fairly good at the moment
