I was not aware that the dizzy is a bit of a weak spot, but it kinda makes sense as I guess that a dizzy failure would not bring up any CEL fault codes.

Anyone had a dizzy fail on them and if so what happened?

It's inside the dizzy. Really easy to replace and can be bought online for around £25.

Ah, it's part of the dizzy - I'll have a look around, get a 2nd hand one (with coil-pack) and see if that makes a difference.

My dizzy failed a few years back.
Car just cut out while driving down the road.
All the dash lights lit up and everything. Engine turned over fine but just wouldn't fire. AA came out and sourced it to be the coil in the dizzy.
