leaky radiator

hi guys
i have a few drips coming from the bottom of the radiator, i only noticed it the other day when i was waiting for my daughter and i noticed the temp gauge was higher than usual.
ive been out today having topped it up and letting it idle to check the fan operation, which is fine, the dripping starts when it heats up to operating temp.
anyway my question is does anyone have any experience with stuff such as radweld, barleaks etc as a temp fix for now?
cheers for any input
stuart

Don't both with radweld or anything like that, its crap for your engine. I have a decent Honda rad from my 5th for sale (I presume 2.0 and 2.2 rads are the same).

True story, it leaves grit like deposits in your engine if not properly flushed out. Its only really for emergency or short term. For peace of mind its worth a new rad rather than a skim and a new head gasket. ;)

Arr.
Radweld does work for minor leaks, but it's not worth it really unless you're absolutely desperate.

If 5th are the same as 4th rad-wise, then the 2.0 is a thinner core than 2.2's, but otherwise fits ok. Might be worth checking on one of the on-line Honda parts catalogues.
If they're different, IIRC then @GJMHonda2012 had a 4th gen 2.2 rad for sale in Scotland? Don't know if that would fit a 5th???

I got a brand new radiator off of eBay for less than £35, delivered. Fits 4th and 5th

Yep, I'm running the same one - as is @vanzep 8-)

[edit] Newkid has PM'd me to say the lower mounts on the 5G are different. Looks like this isn't any use to you man.

Even if they are man, it won't make much of a difference. Mine is a 2.0 rad and I've had no issues!

I think there are slight discrepencies between vtec rads on 4ths and 5ths regarding the spacing of the mounts, just be sure to measure up before spending your money.

[EDIT] Looks like Indys edit above beat me to it! ;)
