2.3 exhaust.

I'm going to get spanked for this. But my search terms must be off or something because I can't find the definitive answer here or elsewhere.

Simple question - exhaust options (cat back) for my 2.3 - are these the same as 2.2s? Do I get the same virtual feast of choice as you Vtec chaps or do I get weirdo poop brands?

Internets says both yes and no. Some say that it doesn't matter, others say that one is longer than the other, and it's turning into a boring game now. I just want zorst.

Thanks knowledgable people.

The 2.3 exhaust is not the same as the 2.2 but it is the same as the 2L.

the manifold is different but you should be able to make the exhaust fit without too much trouble the only difference between the 2.2 and the 2.3 is the diameter of the cat afaik.

so you can make it fit

but don't forget the difference between uk and jdm

Pretty sure the mani won't fit, it won't line up with the engine properly. Same reason as how the intake manifolds aren't interchangeable. But as merc says you can make the rest fit if you really want.

I can confirm that a 2.2 mani will not fit a 2.3 head. It's close, but doesn't quite match up.

The top part of the 2.3l fits on F20 but you'll have to weld the 2/1 part to the rest of the exhaust.

The F22 2/1 parts almost makes the job... almost but not :/

It might be worth visiting your local performance exhaust place?? A couple of my friends have had custom cat backs made up for about £200-300 , and most places that work with stainless should offer a lifetime guarantee to boot.

I had trouble with mating a 2.2 non vtec mani to a vtec cat back.
Ended up getting things welded.
