I broke my love

I was racing with few guys and i was in 3rd gear redline and missed gear and accidentally got it into 2nd

car did brake (with engine) really fast but i pressed clutch and rolled of the road. And noticed that engine noise is bit louder than usual, but after 15min of normal driving everything was fine. So i thought its time for another vtec run and after i done it, my car was shaking on idle, engine got way louder( its louder than my exhaust) Went to garage and they said it could be cambelt or tappets are lose.
But i will leave it in garage only on friday , and i wanted to know if its safe to drive it? I need to get to work
Anyone ever done something like this?
And any ideas, what happened with engine?

Might want to clarify that you weren't racing on a public road before you start getting abuse

Hopefully you haven't exceeded the rpm the engine is capable of. The rev limiter isnt going to do anything for you in this situation as all that does is cut ignition/fuel. The speed of rotation of the wheels in the lower gear may have forced the engine to exceed its limits.

It doesn't sound that bad

I would have expected a lot of knocking.

well if it would knock than i wouldnt have any questions
but thing is, if i am like 30-40meters away from car, i hear my engine(it is louder than before) but i dont hear exhaust

so something is wrong
and as you can hear, sound of exhaust isnt smooth like it was before

Is it blowing oil out of the dip stick or any other usual drokked engine sounds? Any steam or burning smell or excessive oily deposits? As said it doesnt sound bad, if it was drokked it'd sound more metallicey, like jingling spanners or like someone knocking the block with a hammer.
is it possible with the force of the engine braking that you may have split a joint in the exhaust or manifold?

not blowing oil and no other sounds, just loud tapping .
well i havent noticed any splits
So it could be that cambelt just jumped over? because it bubbles sometimes when im accelerating till 2,5rpm and when i take foot of the pedal on neutral.
