Hi Guys,

Ok ive bought a new car its a green 4th gen and a few of you have probably seen a few pictures of it, its done 63500 miles and the engine is really sweet and so is the gearbox its got the nice led rev counter and speedo and digital odometer.

Image

My current lude the black 4th gen has the old non digital speedo and the gearbox is clunky and the engine is good but it has done alot more miles than the green one.

I was hoping i can convince a few of you to help out doing a direct swap from one car to the other, any dates between july august and september are cool and ill just book some time off work but i do have all the last week in August off so then would be great.

If anyone fancies doing this with me that would be great! Im in the Mansfield, Nottinghamshire area.

Thanks in advance guys. :D

I will certainly be able to get up and help with some of the work being done at weekends.

As it was me who suggested an engine swap meet, I'm offering my services, as well as my garage/driveway space!

Have a nice selection of tools, the only thing I don't have which may be useful is an engine crane - but I do have plenty of rope, and some heavy metal roof supports ;)

If Chris is going to take up my offer, it probably depends mostly on what weekends I have available! ;)

Weekend of 16th August, 23rd August or 30th August all looking clear in my calendar at the moment.

I would definitely like to take you up on your offer pal, as I don't fancy doing this at my house as you've seen I'm near a main road n one of us will get run over!

As for the weekends I'm free all of those weekends, although weekend of the 23rd August would probably be best as I'm off all the following week and I can tinker with my new toy :-)

If we need a crane I'll rent one, I'm sure I can rent one locally for the weekend?

If we lift the engine out and not the car over the engine won't that make it harder with the gearbox?

Or is it a matter of disconnecting it and removing it separately.

Also as you have done this before, could you be as so nice to give me a list of parts that will be needed for the swap please and instead of selling the green one I think it's going to be the new track car, so if I crash it I won't cry.
