Gearbox oil leak...

So ive done about 600 miles since the rebuild and one thing which is becoming aparant is that I have a monumental oil leak from the O / S ( drivers side ) shaft were it goes into the gearbox, ive investigated abit and I seem to have abit of play there as in inward and outward.
My educated guess is that the shaft is moving out when going around left hand corners and allowing the oil to leak out..

Anyone else had this issue?
Could it be the sir-clip on the end of the shaft worn?
Or the seal on the box?

Any help greatly appreciated! :D

More likely the gearbox driveshaft seal.

There is a set ring that is meant to stop any lateral movement. I suppose if the set ring is broken then the shaft could potentially come out a bit and leak some fluid. But yeah there is a seal there and that could have perished. I think you are going to have to remove the shaft and take a look. Buy some more gearbox fluid before you remove anything though ;)

Worth checking if the seal is dry too, the inner part where it mates to the shaft should be packed with some form of grease; without it, it will leak.
