H22A Crank Pulley Removal

Hi folks,

I'm trying to change my water pump and timing belt currently, but I'm having a nightmare getting the crank pulley off :( I don't have the Honda tool, but seeing as my engine isn't in a car I don't think it'd be much use anyway, as there'd be nothing to secure it on. I've tried used a Volkswagen tool I had lying around which can grip the pulley no problem but without anything to secure it to it's useless... I even jammed it against a spare engine mount, but that just resulted in the tool lifting the engine in the air :? so are there any quick fixes out there that anyone knows of? Or I'm just going to have to fork out £20 for a tool I'll use once, and get somebody really strong to hold on to it lol

Cheers,
Josh

sounds like you will need to get the crank pulley tool
be careful though as i stupidly bought a tool with a 45mm hex and it needs to be a 50mm hex
from what im told if it was on the engine you could jam the flywheel
my crank pulley came loose on it own so was easy to remove

Buy a 50mm - across flats - nut and get a piece of bar welded to it. I had to use a 3/4 inch drive socket set to loosen mine. Please note that it is anti-clockwise to loosen.
