Just a quick question regarding water pumps..
I'm going to be replacing mine when I do the belts, and was just wondering if there are any makes to avoid when buying?
Better still, could anyone recommend a make?
Thanks chaps
Doug

When you get there plead poverty and try and get some money off. Keep asking if they can do it cheaper ;) I got my one for about £100 from my local stealer.

£100 ? Sweet baby jeebus!
I was expecting a lot, but £100?
The whole bloody car only cost £250!

If the car doesn't owe you much I am sure there is a case to sling a cheap water pump in it.

No, the car means a great deal, just wasn't expecting that sort of money..
I have that on my bench - bought it last week because of the Gates belts. I just wasn't sure about the 'FirstLine' water pump that came with it..

I'd rather pay for good parts than cheap it out and pay later!

Firstline are a big company, think EuroCarParts supply a lot of their stuff. Has Google thrown up any information?

Only thing that ive noticed is that the aftermarket water pumps (at least the 2 i have seen) have slightly smaller impellers comared to OEM. Maybe not a biggie but also noticed that the aftermarket pumps dont have the little rubber mount that sits on one edge of the pump - you will need to swap this over - I only noticed once i had fitted my pump
I think merlin has called it right go for OEM - guaranteed a perfect fit and no bits missing etc. :)
