Auto to manual gearbox conversion

im sure this has already been covered but I cant find anything with the search
Im looking at buying a 2.2 auto 5th gen, I already have a manuel 5th gen, how much is involved with changing the gearboxes over?
can I just simply take them both off and put them on the other ?
