There are loads of types of oil filter removal tools out there. Does anyone have any recommendations? I have been wanting one of these in my tool box for ages.

I just stab mine with a screwdriver. I have one of the chain type removal tools but I find that getting it going with the screwdriver is easier, then just remove the screwdriver and remove filter by hand. Bit messy and unprofessional though

There is that.
I kind of want a generic one as I sometimes help out my next door neighbour with his Golf, but then there is this:

If you've put your filter on properly, then you only need your hand to undo it.
Else, a screwdriver jabbed into it is usually the easiest method, and then you only need to do that the once, because see above

A rubber glove!
Seriously, I have a couple of the tools mentioned above and they are great on most cars, but i find teh biggest issue is actually having the room to turn them.
I've taken to using a decent quality washing up glove, works perfectly and has done for ages.

I bought one of the chain ones and it was awful, couldnt get it to do anything (although that might have been because im an idiot)
Ended up stabbing a screwdriver through if and havent looked back since!
