Whats the difference, if any between 4th / 5th gen /ATR manifolds and downpipes.
My wagons failed its MOT on a blow on the downpipe. So I need to look into a replacement.
So I was wondering if there are differences on h22s or will any fit?

4th gen OEM;
H22A and H22A2 manifolds are the same.
H22A and H22A2 downpipes are not identical, but are interchangeable.
The H22A downpipe has additional heat shields in comparison to H22A2.
H22A downpipe rear flange sits at a slightly different angle and has a slightly different bolt pattern in comparison to H22A2, however the bolt holes can be opened out to make it fit and the different angle can be accommodated by the flexi (and vice-versa).

Cheers for that info. Was looking more for the difference in lengths / size in generations. Bolt pattern differences, clearance issues etc.
If I should go down the route of aftermarket or finding another OEM one to fit.
As I'm going to struggle finding one off the shelf.

but that's what I've put for 4th gens - there's a difference in flange angle and bolt pattern on the rear downpipe flange, but that's it and it can be overcome/accommodated anyway.
I don't know the others for sure...
I have an oem jdm downpipe available if you want it though!

Im using h22a aftermarket one on my h22a5 4gen. All what i can say there is nothink what welder could not make it fit on down pipe lenght

if its not fits it means cut and weld back
