Black Diamond kits any good? Also got a college project idea

I've been in contact with a few companies about a new clutch kit.
I havent yet heard back from a couple of american ones but demon tweeks and another company in the UK can get hold on a Black Diamond stage 2 kit. Demon tweeks its £270 + VAT and the other place is £310 all in.
Are they any good? I know they do brakes and I've been told their awful so i dont really want to spend all that money on something thats s**t
It might be worth, knowing that the clutch cable was too tight so it was constantly slipping the plate, just getting another standard one im not sure yet :/
Also..
At college after my 2 years doing level 2, when i do HNC and HND we have to do a project. Its going to be insanely difficult to get the designs if they let me have them. But as i work at Xtrac making racing gearboxes and components etc, im going to ask Honda if i can have the designs for my box and redesign + develop the internals and make them

i dont even know where to start asking but i thought as its such an old car the designs wont be very sensitive and its for a college project so i dont see why they wouldnt let me have them

which after the project will end up in the car haha, i need to also find another box to strip down so i can use the case and the internals as a starting point lol.
I thought it was a good idea which is going to be stupidly difficult and long to make lol but hey, i can say it has an xtrac gearbox in it haha.
Now who to start asking lol

Probably not best getting a stage 2 clutch for a road car. On another note, have your clutch problems been due to the cable?

And also I am pretty sure Honda wont have that info on file anymore. When I did the factory visit, the guy there said that all the older model info isn't available anymore, I asked as I wondered if they had the moulds to body panels lol.

i thought as the engine has about 25-35 extra bhp i thought an uprated kit would help, would a stage 1 be better then?
and yeah it was the cable being too tight which was causing them to break.
Ah okay

i might call and enquire anyway, i mean theres no harm in asking lol, if not i guess im going to have to change my project idea haha

It's worth noting (the very experienced) PAW's comments in here regarding stage clutches for road use and suitability.....

yeah, the way i'm seeing it, shes only going to be used mainly on weekends and for shows etc, so as long as it does like 20k+ and can handle the extra power i'd be happy. mainly because she wont be doing much mileage over a year once shes back on the road (around 5k) and also i can change the clutch myself in a morning so it'll only be the price of a new clutch for me.
I do (well before the last 2 clutches) drive it fairly hard, occasional wheel spin and heavy acceleration so id like something that can cope with that, which im not sure a standard clutch (once the cables fitted correctly

) can cope with for long :/

Ludes weren't built or designed in the uk though, so they wouldn't ever have had that info at a plant or Honda HQ over here (or even Belgium). All lude manufacturing and design was in jdm land.
Good luck getting the info out of Honda Rob (genuinely, I do wish you luck and would love you to succeed). Automotive companies are notoriously secretive with IPR though, so I wouldn't hold out much hope I'm afraid. That detail might be old hat in the developed automotive world, but there are still plenty of countries that would kill for it. That's the same reason we can't get access to even the genuine 5th gen Ukdm service manuals, for example.
Also, I have no personal experience of Black Diamond stuff, but I thought their brake gear was well regarded?

Dc performance can supply a competition clutch stage 1 gravity kit, 8008-2400 for about £250
Says it's for a A20A engine but the years match mine so don't know whether it's typo but the guy says it's that one I need.
If I don't want the black diamond one they offer

Il give it a go and start calling people up, there must be some records somewhere lol, i know it's going to be a long winded process but hopefully Il get somewhere haha

Do you Prelude chaps no longer favour the Honda OEM ATR clutch as an upgrade?
