Help! Where can I find an engine?!

As in to buy, no 'under the bonnet' smart comments
The spareodeck is dead, like very slim chances of resurrection right now.
So... Where the hell can I get an A20 engine to replace it? I can't find any being broken etc. Does anyone know anywhere that may have one, or anyone who has one? Anything.
I know it's a crap old car and it's only meant to be a spares car, but I don't want it to be the end, I really want to keep it going. Plus it's my daily, and it's the only daily I have!!!

I'd buy a whole car and swap the engine if it's cheap enough and a straight swap! Got to keep this damn thing alive now, I've fallen in love

A series engines are rare as... Very limited production run (in the scheme of things).
What's up with your existing one?

How much work to put a B20A or a D series in there instead?

Yeah

it sucks!
The car is with Bruce at work now, it's all pretty beyond my level of understanding / mechanics now tbh. He said before that he thought the big end bearings were on the way out as it was slightly tapping - so we were literally planning to take it apart to check tonight and get parts ordered and get it done same day to prevent it getting to the point of no return

we've been driving without going over 2krpm to make sure it's not under too much stress while we wait too.
I went to go pick up all the servicing parts I'd ordered this morning but got a mile down the road and it started knocking as I slowed down for a junction. Shut it off straight away and got it towed to the yard but it's not looking good. I think I heard Bruce say 'chucked a conrod' but I was trying not to listen because I was starting to get wet eye

didn't realise I loved this car so much
He's going to check it out on his lunch break but he told me not to get my hopes up and to start looking for a new car
I doubt I'd be able to insure it with any kind of engine swap except standard tbh, I'm not one to drive 'undeclared' either. I really wanted to put a B20A in the mint one eventually, but they're not exactly easy to find either - or cheap.

Sorry if this is sacrilege, but couldn't you rob the engine from the mint one if you plan on replacing it anyway?

It would have been an option and it's a valid suggestion, but I want the mint one on the road next year and I wasn't planning on upgrading it until I was 25 (insurance reasons, they already bend me over for the spare) so not really possible right now.
There is an Accord sedan for sale, but it's a little too much for just the engine to be swapped over, and then waiting for parts off it to sell to make back some money. If all else fails I might see if they'd budge on price as it's a Cat C with visible damage and isn't exactly 'low' mileage but has MOT etc.

Other option, I think JJ has parked his saloon up at a farm somewhere - so as long as you were stealthy and quiet ...
