Hi guys. Sorry for yet another question.

Got my engine running again and it now hunts when it's cold and when its warm it idles very low...on the verge of stalking.

Any ideas as I haven't a clue.

Also, would this cause it to fail it's mot?

Thanks

Sorry...forgot to say it's a 5 gen bb8 with h22a motor.

You could try and have a look at the FITV as that valve controls cold idle.

My 5th gen has a FITV. It looks the same as the one on the H22a2 I had in my 4th gen.

how strange, i thought all the 5th gen's had it removed...hence why you need aftermarket tuning for proper fast idle control during warmup?

Looks like mine has it too. Although I don't know how much that means as it has a h22a in it rather than the a8 it came with...

Right...just cleaned up the fitv and it is still hunting. Worse when cold (1,000-3,000 rpm) but still when warm (1,000-1,800 rpm).

Any ideas?

Worth having a look through the service manual. Page 11-74 onwards.

You could have a read of this thread and try and replica the blocking of the holes in the throttle body. Report back your results ;)
