Newbie needing help

Post by Kerr_Se9 » Wed Dec 10, 2014 4:22 pm

Hi folks just joined up, got a Prelude 2.2Vti Manual, UK Car, Traded in against a car I was selling, I have an intermittent problem with the immobiliser , every now and then the key light continues to flash, looking for advice on who/where can bypass it/repair it or sell me an jdm ecu etc

Thanks John

I have a similar issue - had flickering led then led stopped lighting up but immobiliser still worked - turned out to be a loose wire at the contact pad. I guess that would be a good place to start. My imobiliser is a toad aftermarket one and the contact pad is down by the gearstick. I just took the centre console/arm rest out to get to it.

It's the standard factory immobiliser , been told its the aerial around ignition barrel that's faulty

Was that not a recall item?

Correct, that was not a recall item.

The barrel was, not the immobiliser loop, which does sound likely, or the transmitter in the key.

I'll try another immob loop or remove the key and glue it nearer, as it's only going to be a track car, not likely to get nicked as it's blocked in!

Anybody know anyone who can bypass it

Anyone?

Or does anybody have an ecu they'd like to sell me ( one that's open)
