hello guys, i have bought a downpipe for my h22a 4th gen and i would like to replace the O2 sensor that goes on the downpipe. i've been looking on ebay for direct fit o2 sensors, but i don't know if this is the "front" or "rear" o2 sensor. wich one should i buy?

It will be the front you need.

JDM 4th gens only have one O2 sensor, it is in the downpipe. The other sensor that is in the CAT is a CAT temp sensor and it is not needed. If yo install a decat the CAT temp sensor wire can be earthed off on the chassis.

my car is a JDM h22a, and this is for h22a2, i'm not sure if it makes any difference or if i can use it without any problems.

Yeah you should be ok with that. The only think to really look of for is that lambda sensors for 4th and 5th gens have a different connector. So as long as you get one for a 4th gen you will be fine.

The O2 Sensors from USDM and JDM 4 gen are exactly the same. But the most aftermarket O2 Sensors ar cheap an jobby so far for my experience. Since 3 month i have got a BOSCH LSF-XFP 50 it is the newest norrowband O2 from Bosch.. today only installed on EU6 vehicle. The benefits ar quicker heater only takes 7 sek till the O2 is ready for operation. And it is more prezise it means it can handle more prezise cykle per second as normal o2s.
The H22a feals bether in the close loop and i takes now only ~9l Petrol @ 100km usualy ~10-11 with my NOT economic driving style
