Sorry I know this has probably been asked before but everything has finally turned up for the rebuild now and all I've got to do now is supply the fluids and oils. I know I'll be using 5w40 fully synthetic engine oil but was wondering what was the best gearbox oil for the m2b4 lsd box? And I've got a stage 3 clutch, what fluid would be best for that? Thanks.

Amsoil MTF or Honda brand for the gearbox. :geek:

Been running the Amsoil MTF oil in my m2b4 for a fair few years now and i'd highly recommend it. Noticed the difference straight away with it being smoother but im guessing it was over due an oil change/ had s*** oil in to start with when I first got the car.

Amsoil MTF, Torco MTF or Honda MTF. Just use brake fluid for the clutch ;)

Again, another vote for Amsoil MTF. It revitalises gearboxes.

Can I ask what 5w40 oil you're going for, why are you choosing 5w40, and what your engine mileage is?

Well I'm going for 5w40 oil because I've heard good things and my mileage is 110,000 miles but it is going in for a complete engine rebuild so it should be okay.

Sorry I just re-read that and the oil I'm going for is Shell Helix Ultra fully synthetic.

That's cool. I only ask as a while back there was a series of H22's on the forum (mine included) that had oil pump failure. It turned out all had recently switched to 5w40 from 10w40 and most (if not all) were now running Fuchs Titan Race Pro S oil. I think all the motors were in excess of 100k miles as well, but all should be well if you're replacing the oil pump for new :)
