I've got a 98 2.0i and just bought a h23 engine to fit into car can this engine be turbo'd as this engine won't have VTEC also can I use my Manuel gearbox as the gearbox with engine is auto auto

You can use the manual box, yes. Not sure if the ratio's will be ideally suited though.
An h23 can be turbo'd, but the f20 already in the car is actually a better bet for turbo charging. It can handle more boost and will last longer.
(Everyone else correct me if I'm wrong on that!)

From "all" turbo set ups I've seen on F20, they are not that reliable. Rods are too fragile. Stock, people who blow their engines recommend 210hp max, approx ~0.5bar.

Sure it's the rods and no the cap bolts? They are usually the first thing to fail on boost. Just whack a set of arp cap studs and nuts in

The pistons in H series engines don't like being turbo'd and because of the frm block material, you're really limited on choice of pistons, they're expensive and the other option (sleeving the block) is even more expensive, whereas the F series block isn't an frm block, it's a standard steel block to start with so much better suited.
That was my understanding anyway???
rods are cheaper/easier to change than sleeving the block, which is why the f20 is a better base?
I'm no turboing expert though, that's for sure, hence my calling out to be corrected!
