With my suspension just about finished im soon to turn my attention to the ATR H22a7 I have sitting waiting to go into the 4G.
What aftermarket cams are there for the H22? and what price are they roughly? The H22a7 has a comp ratio of 11:1 so am I correct in thinking this engine would make good use of uprated cams?

skunk2, crower, BC crower, JUN
I would go with skunk2 stage 2,
I have the crowers and there all good, but needed something modified on the head cant remember exactly
for that reason skunk2 seem the best quality

Skunk2 seems to be the most popular, and they ALL the valvetrain bits that you'll need pretty much.

A7 cams are really good as they are, this is claimed by all the ATR owners. There is good power to be had from them.

Yeah I know the a7 with basic mods (H/I/E - which I have already) can make 230bhp+ with a tune, take STK's lude for example. I am wondering what power can be gained through more agressive cams with the higher comp of the a7.
Lude-Dude I rember you saying that your lower comp ratio was holding you back on power and not hitting the limits of the cams?

Also what is the difference between stage 1 & stage 2?

yeah higher comp and I would probably be in the 250's maybe
so some aggressive cams might be a nice idea for your motor, its gonna cost abit I can see with the valve train to go with it.
but maybe like me you could find some 2nd hand bargains
but I got some goodies to add so I'll see what rich can do
and now have full 2.5" system

The Stage 1/ Stage 2 difference is the lift and duration of each cam, don't think there's any other difference! If you check the cams on the Skunk2 site I'm pretty sure there's more info/a comparison of them.

Cheers. I have also read a little of the difference between Tuner and Pro series, the difference being idle and other stock characteristics. Im going to have to think about what to get

How lumpy is your idle Lude-Dude? I know you have a Skunk intake manifold, but anything else that gives power?
