My Type-S on Periods...

Post by nitin_s1 » Thu Mar 29, 2012 9:46 pm

I headed over to Simon's house to get some of my lights working ( Easy job).

When I got there and parked up and saw the S was pissing everywhere. It was only coolant

Simon and James kindly diagnosed the problem. I'm not sure what it was and I don't pretend to know as well.  I think my radiator is leaking..

Topped up and then went for a massive drive and good comments on the car's handling..

I drove home (20miles on Motorway) got home and checked there where no leaks so don't know.

I will (might) need a new radiator, I know I need some sort of Automatic Radiator (extra holes for the ATTS). Can anyone confirm this???

On the bright side, my fog light is on the Reverse light and my 3rd brake light on the S-Spec is working perfect..

yeah you need an auto rad as the atts unit has cooling pipes just like an auto box. i seen this the other day when i was removing the engine and box from the type s. luckily i had saved my auto from when i done an auto to manual box conversion

Not good Nitin, my rad went a few weeks ago, then when I got a replacement it was from an auto doh! But it still fitted nicely tho. Simple enough to replace ;)

Yeah auto rads fit in both manual and autos :) The auto pipe section in the rad is separate so no need to worry.

I think I've just confused my self further.

Do I need an Automatic Radiator or a Manual one?
