Removing drive shaft from diff

Hi Guys,

Any tips on removing the n/s drive shaft? Last time I did it I managed to pop a screwdriver under the diff seal covering plate and pop it out that way but this time the plate just pinged off and the shaft stayed in place  I've tried a bit of leverage on the half shaft bearing bracket but it doesnt seem to want to budge. I've also tried putting a socket extension through the diff (LSD so hollow) and knocking it out that way but it's not budged more than a few mm. I haven't got a bigger hammer to try but that may be the way forward unless someone has a cunning trick they can share..!

Thanks in advance :)

Give it one big hammer. Dont do little ones but 1 big wak. Luckily mine just slid out.

And with the hammer you are likely to smash the cv casing.
Use a rubber mallet if you do.

best option is hammer and bit of wood

hammer can damage housing, rubber mallet will bounce back to your face
