Painted alternator

Post by akiragost » Thu Mar 05, 2015 6:27 pm

So it seems someone's painted my alternator at some point, it is now flaking, is there any way I can get it to look clean? Sand down? Repaint? Scared of damaging the alternator

You can remove the alternator and take it apart. The casing comes off so you can paint it without getting paint over all the internals.

Ish, I manged to bend the central shaft the first time I did it  . Second time around I just cut small pieces of paper and slipped them under the 'grills' to mask the internals, much easier.
