Looking at getting this catastrophic looking oil leak sorted over the weekend. Ive picked up a rocker gasket as I dont think it was replaced last time the rocker was off been polished. So im gonna repolish it over the weekend and change the gasket. should I change the cam seal aswell? Anything else? Oil change due aswell so I presume 5w30 will be ok? Once its polished and back on I dont want to be taking it off again.

I must say the Preludes rocker cover design does annoy me slightly as I will once again have to remove it to do the timing belt in the summer. Granted I have not owned a lot of cars but I could swear it's a bit of a design flaw!

Anyways to answer your question, I use a 10w40 full synthetic. Partly because people on here say you will inevitably burn less and partly because I got it free of charge because my mate works for a Porsche garage haha :) seems to work perfectly fine :)

Probably worth while changing the cam seal as aftermarket upgrades are fairly cheap :) About the only thing I didn't do when I refurbed my rocker cover! Get stuck in and check the valve clearances too! :)
