hi guys well after completing my gearbox conversion I now have the h22a8 engine sat in the work shop I was going to put it in as it pulled like train but after removing from the donor car there was to many oil leaks
so intreasted to know what you guys would do if you knew you had a powerfull lump complete?

Fix the oil leaks whilst it is out of the car, if I was doing anything with an engine out there are various seals I would change anyway. I know you cant run it up but any idea where these leaks were coming from?

Bit more work but it is your choice, when you say pulled like a train, had you compression checked it to see how healthy it was? You either need another engine or you do the work to the one you have got. By the time you pay for a good engine and sell yours for a loss I think I would be getting the head off yours and repairing that, obviously new cam belt etc convert to manual tensioner and do the front main whilst you are there...

I have a black top engine in tip top condition as for the red top mechaniclly she was sound no rattles and purred really well just the oil leaks stopped me putting it in my project car the initial plan was to do the swap and uprate the black top now im thinking uprate the red top
