Hi guys ive been away for a while. ie some tit wrote my beloved 5th gen off..... all is not lost and shes vic tested and back booming bar needing a little body care.
Im wondering i have the auto tip box and absolutely love being a lazy one so would like to keep it but i have the h22a 183bhp and would love to make it quicker. I realise id be better putting a maual box in. surely the box would take 250 ish reliable? if so how do i do this without fitting a turbo or supercharger?
All your help and comments will be highly appreciated as im absolutely usless at this and a complete newby.
also once ive worked out how to upload picks as its changed somewhat since was last here and yes theres a big dent in the quarter but it has motegi lips and ep3 white wheels now so looking nice.

Spend a lot of money.

NA tuning is not cheap like Donald says
but if you can hustle some 2nd hand parts you can bring the cost down
finding engine management and good tuner would be good first step, then cams, valvetrain, pistons, exhaust, air intake
not sure how engine management and auto box work together, I assume no problems

as long as the auto box ecu still receives its signal you should be ok with a management ecu

You would have to spend nearly the same amount like on a decent forced induction setup and hit the wall preformance-wise. Also, very few tuning programs support auto tranny. And that tranny tends to fall apart even on stock engine, I wouldn't put my money on it holding up more power.

dont listen to the haters

it can be done the autobox doesnt fail because of power they fail because they are not looked after

For the auto box to work you are limited to piggyback ecu only like the emanage ultimate.

If developing an engine with an autobox you are not realising the full potential of the engine. In stock form the manual is around 25 bhp at the wheels more powerful than the automatic. That, combined with the gear ratios, is good for over a second off 0-60. To get the same increase in power though engine mods is ££££.
