5th gen: base engine into sh prelude with sh manual trany

I have done some searching and am getting mixed answers so thought I would ask here.

As the title states a base engine into an sh body with sh transmission.

I have a 5th gen prelude I'm breaking and I have a buyer for the engine but their car is a sh.

He blew his engine because when he did his oil change the guy forgot to put oil in...dummy

So now the question. His car is manual and my breaking lude is auto. Can my base engine mount to his sh manual transmission and if yes is there a list of things he needs to swap over?

I'd say no as the blocks are different, oil filter location, how the drive shafts mount, the atts unit etc, sure @rattymcclelland can confirm.

^ thanks I'm getting to that conclusion as well but still doing some research.

No cannot be done. Engine blocks are different. You can convert an atts block to fit standard transmissions but cannot rettifit a standard block to fit an atts unit and its transmission.

thanks @rattymclelland, pretty stupid that honda used the same engine codes for base and sh preludes!

i know stupid engineers what do they know!

Same engine codes h22a4
but both totally different blocks.......probably were smoking something at the time they named it and once it was in production and too late they were like ahhhhh let the tech's have a hard time figuring out why a h22a4 won't fit in a sh with an h22a4...
