Power steering leak / bypass

chaps
I have a fluid leak in the tube running in front of the rad (pipe with the fins on it)
Im assuming this is required for power steering fluid cooling?
Can I bypass this or should I be looking for a replacement? Bumper off job?

Mine is bypassed and no issues as far as I can tell.

Great where did you bypass?
I was thinking i could hack off the 'U' bend at the end of the 'cooler' and clamp it in pipes 22 & 23?

On mine, there's a pipe that comes out of the reservoir and rather than going to the cooler (u-bend thing), it goes the complete different direction and goes straight to the rack (I think).
EDIT:
So, looking at the picture you posted, 39 comes out of the reservoir, goes into 38 which then goes direct into 22. I didn't do it mind, it was done by a previous owner. I think they just used 23 but turned it round to feed straight into 22.
Hope that helps

Don't know how hot the fluid runs in 3g's tbh, so no idea if it's a good idea to loop out, or not.
We really do need to do a group buy on getting some of these made up for 3g and 4g's... They're all rotting these days and either stupid expensive, or unobtainable. I just haven't found anyone local that will do it yet, otherwise I would have posted up.

Ahh...missed the bit about the 3g. Mines a 5g if that helps. Looks to be a similar set up to be fair though.
@wurlycorner if you do...I'd definitely stick my name down for one as the one on mine is rotten. And it's only a 1999

I think 5g's must run cooler generally, because both types of cooler for the power steering (there are 2 designs) are much smaller than 4g and 3g.
(It also might be that the 3g and even 4g coolers are over-specced anyway, of course.)

Thanks guys - I have decided to bypass it. If I do get issues down the line at least I will know what i need to put back!

I can take a picture when I'm next at the lude to show you how mine is set up (as it may help you even though yours is 3g)
