4G swapping ECU's? What's possible?

Vanzep is having a few problems with chipping his ECU. He is stuck in limp mode and we just want to get the car mobile again. I have 3 ECU's here and was wondering what is possible when swapping them out?

Does the 4G have an immobiliser? If we take this JDM P13 out would any of my ECU's work straight off the bat? I have:

Stock UKDM P13
Spoon JDM P13
H22 mapped Crome P28

Any ideas?

I think we should try the stock P13 UKDM ECU (but disconnect his Spoon VTEC controller from the mix) to get him at least going again.

Stick in the Spoon JDM ECU bud. The P28 map probably won't suit his setup and the UKDM will have a different map to his usual JDM map also. The Spoon is at least tuned for a pretty standard JDM which Nick has.

By disconnecting the battery and simply swapping the ECU over you'll be automatically resetting the ECU, so he should be good to go again :)

That could have something to do with why it's in limp mode at the moment. Have you tried the new chip without the VTEC controller?

^^ Very true, could well be that.

Yeah I knew that the Spoon ECU would be most suited to the task, although I might need to leave one with him and I need my Spoon later in the week.

Will there be anything to stop the car from starting once the ECU has been swapped over?

Nope. It's just another brain. It's turned off whenever the battery is disconnected, so if he's fine disconnecting the battery normally, he'll be fine disconnecting it now ;-)

Nice. When I tried the UKDM P13 I couldnt get the car to start, but I did try it only once and whiped it straight out as I had no time to much about with it.

Just phoned him, the spoon VTEC controller is a little box in by the ECU. He's going to try unplugging it.
