Hi! As in the subject I'm looking for an improved exhaust manifold for my 5th gen lude, as the standard one is a little too restrictive, plus ive had a new exhaust setup all the way from backbox to cat?
Anyone got anything or will I have to get a custom one done?
Thanks Ben

Is this a vtec 5th gen? H22A5 or A8?
If it's an A5 then it's exactly the same set up as 4th gens and the following applies:
You can buy after market headers (manifold and downpipe). Choice new is a little limited these days.
PLM tri-y are available new and are the best rated off the shelf header system, but are expensive. You will also need to slightly modify the front lower cross member to fit it.
Japspeed ones are available and needn't be expensive, but don't offer anything over the standard set up.
You might still pick up DC sport headers new (not sure now?) but again they offer nothing really over oem.
You might also find Fujitsubo (also known as "FGK") headers new, somewhere (not looked for a long time). These are the next best rated header after the plm tri-y. Ocassionally turn up used.
Mugen headers are rated the same as Fujitsubo. Unobtainable new and extremely rare second hand.
I have an unbranded but good quality used after market manifold available. I don't think it fits the standard downpipe flange (I can check to be sure) so if that's the case, you would need to get a custom downpipe made up, which a decent exhaust place could do for you. I wouldn't want much for it and will sort pics if interested...

You trying to say I shouldn't have hacked up my mugen one?

Fujitsubo are still available new. Got mine last year. Works out about same cost as PLM as it's a direct fit and nothing needs modifying.

you need the down pipe aswell and they fetch a premium, also you have to notch the front subframe IIRC. They look beefy on the outside but the intenal diamter isnt all that much greater than a jdm 4th gen. you're best buying an aftermarket one second hand or new if they are on offer .
