5G OEM Intake - Different Variations?

Post by Lankysod07 » Thu Jan 28, 2016 7:37 pm

Ive noticed theres a couple of variations of OEM Intake air boxes. Obviously I know what the Type S one looks like and also the straight horrible looking thing on the basic models, but ive not come across this one before....

This just a standard intake with random black box in the middle? :?

That is the UK 5th gen intake on the manual H22a5.

The Type-S, S-SPEC & H22a8 intake is fatter with a big groove/channel in the middle part

Then there is the 4th gen, 5th gen JDM SIR and I think 5th gen UK auto's

I am pretty sure they do not so I double checked Lings.

UK 5G manual - parts 8 & 9 available (the intake center section) https://www.lingshondaparts.com/honda_c ... ock_05=hcr

UK 5G auto - Only part 10 available (the skinny intake tube) https://www.lingshondaparts.com/honda_c ... ock_05=hcr

Here's a photo I took in 2004 showing the H22A8 intake on the left and the H22A5 intake on the right:

They both use the same final section (shown above the H22A5 intake in the photo).
